This application helps you to learn the Thai consonants and vowel/diphthong forms in a series of graded levels. Consonants are covered in levels 1 to 14; diphthongs are covered in levels 15 to 38.
For consonants, the consonant is shown on the flashcard. Click the "Flip" button and you will see the pronunciation of the consonant's name, its name's meaning, its class and notes about whether it's regular or not, or obsolete. Clicking on the speaker icon will play the consonant's name.
For vowels and diphthongs, a word using the particular vowel/diphthong pattern is shown on the flashcard. Click the "Flip" button and you will see the pronunciation of the word, its definition and an "Explain" link which opens a chart in a new window which explains the pattern and gives further example words using that pattern. Clicking on the speaker icon will play the word.
