Reading

The following diphthongs are made up of two parts which "wrap" the consonant or cluster to which they relate.

There are several common /เ◌า/ words that are pronounced irregularly, with a long vowel. These include:

Note that syllables with either of these diphthongs can't have an additional final consonant.
