Reading

In this lesson we review what we've covered so far.

We have learned the following consonants and their class:

Class	Consonants
High	ห, ส, ข, ผ, ฝ, ฉ
Middle	ก, ง, ด, ต, บ, ป, จ
Low	ท, น, ม, ย, ร, ล, ค, พ, ฟ, ฮ

And we have learned the tone rules summarised in this table:

Now try reading these words which include consonants of all classes, and both live and dead syllables:

Now for some 3 and 4 syllable words. Tip: look for the vowels and the consonant before them with which they are associated. This helps to find syllable breaks. For example, with a word like คาทอลิก doing this shows there must be syllable breaks as follows: คา-ทอ-ลิก
